Diminishing The Darkness By Lifting Up The Marvelous Light Of Jesus Christ

Some sixteen years ago and for nearly thirty years prior to that, Marcia and I religiously kept all of the "Jewish" Feast Days. These included the Passover, Days of Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, Feast of Trumpets, Feast of Tabernacles and the Last Great Day.

Throughout all of that time, I had no idea in the world that Jesus was represented, in some way, in each of these special days.

Of course, we did understand that the very plan of salvation is pictured through these days:

The year begins with Passover which pictures coming out of sin, but was fulfilled by Jesus presenting Himself as our Passover lamb.

Next we have the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which is really part of Passover, picturing the need for our repentance or change combined with Jesus" sacrifice.

Next some fifty days later, is Pentecost which pictures the first fruit of God"s harvest, but was fulfilled by the coming of the infilling of the Holy Spirit and all of the benefits thereof.

Still yet unfulfilled, is the Feast of Trumpets picturing the return of Jesus, the Feast of Tabernacles picturing our 1,000 years rule with Jesus and the Last Great Day picturing the final white throne judgement.

These are the Old Covenant Holy days, which God has revealed as being symbolic of His progressive plan for every Christian.

The problem right now is, that most Christians are still stuck at Passover. Yes, some have made it to Pentecost - but very few, of even those, are really prepared to move on to Trumpets.

Religious folks focus upon the cross - the instrument of Jesus" execution during the Passover season, without moving forward to Pentecost to be equipped and empowered by His Holy Spirit.

Yes, Jesus died upon the cross at Calvary, He was buried in a borrowed tomb - but He IS NOW our LIVING King.

Once we believe that He died and rose again as our King, it is a mistake to camp out at the foot of the cross - it is time to move forward - for Jesus is no longer that suffering servant upon the cross - but is now the living King of the Kingdom of God, which we are responsible to grow and develop.

Important Biblical Principals
in the

Declaration
of
Independence

I t is just not possible to fit the entire Declaration of Independence into this article. Therefore, I will select portions of it and point out some important principals, which can be found within it.

Please note that I am not the one saying this and that it is the Declaration itself saying this. I am simply pointing out what the Declaration says.

"Declaration of Independence" (Adopted Unanimously by Congress on July 4, 1776)

"When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature"s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation."

Here begins the principals I want you to see:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident(4), that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator(1) with certain unalienable rights(2) that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

1. There is a Creator God by which men have been created.
2. That Creator God gives, grants or endows rights, which include: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

"That to secure these rights, governments are instituted(3) among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed(5)."

3. Government exists to protect those rights that God gives.

(Please note that without these first three principals, there can be no such thing as liberty.)

4. There ARE absolute moral laws or truths.
5. Below this moral law, we the people get to form a government.

"That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government(6), laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness."

6. If that government fails or refuses to fulfill these principals, we the people have the right to end that government and to form a new government that will.

"Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; ...

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.(7)"


7. It is not only our right to throw off or get rid of a despotic government and to form a new government, it is our duty to do so.

The declaration goes on to list the specific despotic acts of the King of England as due cause for the separation and then declares the absolute freedom of our independant states from Great Britain.

"And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor."

These are the principles upon which our Declaration of Independence was formed:
1. There is a divine Creator.
2. That Creator gives individuals certain unalienable rights. These are not rights to groups. They are not collective rights. They are individual rights, endowed by the Creator not by the government.
3. Government exists to protect these rights.
4. There are moral absolutes that govern our lives.
5. Below those moral absolutes, we have the right to form a government.
6-7. If a system of government doesn't do its job, you can, and should, abolish it and form a new one.

Unfortunately we have been fed the lie so long that our founders were atheists, agnostics, and deists that we are slow to believe our nation had such God-centered founding principles. But 52 of the 56 signers of the Declaration had strong Christian beliefs. [52 Christians, (Congregationalists, Unitarians, Episcopalians, Presbyterians, Quakers); 1 Catholic and only 2 were indeed Diest but even they both attended Episcopalian churches from time to time

The United States of America is a Christian Nation, founded by Christians, founded upon Christian principals and don"t ever let anyone tell you any different. TGM
